The Villa Mirabello in Varese dates back to the 18th Century. Today it is home to the Civic Museums, which contain an archaeological collection. Visitors can see prehistoric finds from Isolino Virginia, from Pizzo Bodio, from Golasecca, and Roman finds from Angera. Also here is a butterfly collection which belonged to the tenor Francesco Tamagno. In the Archaeological Museum there is a mummy of an 11-12 year old child. The villa also has an English style garden.
