The Torre di Velate was built around the 11th Century. It is located on the outskirts of Velate village, close to the cemetery. This tower is the property of Zambeletti, and was constructed on Roman foundations. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Bianchi of Velate. It has five floors each with a single window. Other things to see in Velate include the late Gothic church in St Stefano Square with its 16-17th Century wooden crucifix; the Oratory of St. Domenico; and the 16th Century Clerici House, with its Middle Ages tower.
