Domenico Curtoni started the Teatro Filarmonico in 1605. His design was inspired by the Palladian and was originally in the shape of a semicircle with an open gallery in wood. It has a magnificent façade with columns that were erected in 1608, and the reception, which is now the Theatre’s foyer was included in 1612. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart when he was only 14 played here in 1770. Fire destroyed much of the building in 1749 and it was damaged by bombs in 1945 before being completely rebuilt in 1969.
