Scuola dei Carmini
Carmini, Dorsoduro, Venice 30124 - Italy

Map

The Scuola dei Carmini has two facades, which are attributed to Longhena, therefore it’s likely that it was erected sometime in the 17th Century. It is known that the Brotherhood of the Virgin of Carmel was very powerful in 17th Century Venice and is still dedicated to works of charity today. In the interior is a fine pictorial cycle of nine paintings, dedicated to the ’Madonna del Carmine’ and painted by Giambattista Tiepolo, there is also a painting by Padovanino
