Erected from bricks in 1283 the church of S. Giorgetto dei Domenicani is also known as S. Pietro Martire, and is built next to the magnificent church of S. Anastasia. Dating back to the 14th Century it has vaulted ceilings and walls covered in votive panels depicting the Brandenburg Knights, who came to Verona in 1354 to help Cangrande II. There are some magnificent frescoes like the ‘ Madonna and Saints Crucifixion’ by Turone, as well as works by Giovanni Maria Falconetto of the ‘Annunciation’, and the ‘Madonna con committente tra Ss. Antonio abate e Giovanni Battista’ by Giovanni Badile.
