The continuous wall around the Soccorso originally joined the Castel San Pietro. This now stands on the ruins of the Viscount’s castle built in 1389, which is still partially visible. In 1450 it was joined to other fortifications, but was partially dismantled by the French. However, the Austrians completed its destruction so they could build barracks on the site. On the left, the medieval walls are visible from the Grotta to San Zeno in Monte, while to the right you can see the castles of Santa Sofia, San Leonardo and San Mattia.
