Pallanza is inland slightly from Lake Maggiore and is an interesting village. This place is crammed with beautiful buildings and piazzas worth investigating. In Piazza Cavour is the Museo del Paesaggio or the Landscape Museum, dedicated to works of art depicting landscapes and it also includes items from local Celtic and Roman history. There is a fascinating collection of works created by the artist Paul Troubetzkoy, an Intran sculptor. Another splendid building is the church of Madonna di Campagna, the town’s finest structure of Renaissance architecture from the 16th Century.
