Zafferana Etnea is a town close to the Ionian Coast. The main area is situated around the Piazza Umberto I, off Via Roma, where you can find the Mother Church which is dedicated to the Madonna della Provvidenza. This is a Baroque structure which is flanked by two bell towers. The façade is white stone and has a statue of the Virgin. The interior has some interesting works of art such as a painting of Saint Joseph and the Child. Also on Piazza Umberto I, close to the church, is a lovely public garden.
