There are many medieval farmsteads which can be found in the countryside of Volta Mantovana. These dwellings typically have towers with thick walls and barrel vault ceilings on the ground floor, small windows, and closed courtyards complete with wells. They are constructed out of stone which is a building material that is readily available in the area. A good example is the Fienile Urangia just outside of the town – located by taking the road towards Lake Garda.
