The Correr Museum began with a collection donated to the city of Venice in 1830 by Teodoro Correr. An elegant stairway, built as a grand entrance to the Napoleonic royal palace, leads visitors to the exhibition rooms. Here can be seen the neo-classical rooms of the Royal Palace, the Canoviana Collection, the Venetian Civilisation, the Antique Art, and Renaissance Bronze. As well as the beautiful sculptures by Canova, you can admire Venezia by Jacopo De’ Barbari at the museum’s entrance.
