If you’re looking for the most spectacular view over Venice, then you’ll need to climb the bell tower of the Church of San Marco. From the top of the tower the entire lagoon can be seen. The original bell tower was built in the 15th Century and the present structure is an exact replica. It was here, in 1609 that the world famous Galileo Galilei exhibited his telescope and most would agree he couldn’t have chosen a more fitting place.
