There is something quite unique about the Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista in Vizzini. The local legend tells the story of the Chiesa di San Giovanni Evangelista, or the church of St. John the Evangelist, having been built on what was at one time the temples of Bacchus (Dionysus in Greek mythology) and Minerva (Athena). The interior of this church is divided into three naves and there is some good stucco decoration here by Bonaiuto.
