A renovation carried out between 1515 and 1529 of the former ‘Domus Bladorum’, dating from the middle ages, has created the Casa dei Mazzanti. It can be located at the north east of the Piazza delle Erbe. Decorative frescoes by Alberto Cavalli (1530) representing the Allegories of Ignorance, Greed, Love, and Moderation were added to the façade in 1480. The building houses shops and stores, which are rented or privately owned, while upstairs was once used as the public grain store.
