The Basilica di S. Maria Gloriosa dei Frari was erected in the 13th Century and was extended several times until the 16th Century. The Basilica is home to works of art by Tiziano, such as his ‘1’Assunta’, and the ‘La Madonna di ca’ Pesaro’. Also in the side chapel you will find Bellini’s ‘Madonna in Trono’, you can also find the tombs of Tiziano, Canova, Monteverdi, and Francesco Foscari. In spite of its many historical and artistic treasures, the church’s large dimensions make it seem almost empty.
