The Basilica dei Frari in Venice is the Gothic styled Franciscan church which was built during the 13th Century. The collection here in the museum increased up to the 16th Century and housed today are such treasures as the ‘Assunta’ and ‘Madonna di ca Pesaro’ by Titan and the ’Madonna’ by Giovanni Bellini. Also here is the burial place of Titan and the Venetian sculptor Antonio Canova, with funeral monuments to Francesco Foscari and Monteverdi.
