Since 1924, the archaeological museum has been on the site of the former 15th Century monastery of St. Jerome. Founded by Antonio Avena, it contains many exhibits from Roman Verona and examples of Greek and Etruscan civilisations. There are fine mosaics which come from a Roman Villa and many marble busts including a Menandro - a 4th Century Roman copy of a Greek original. The sculpture room holds some beautiful pieces such as an Aphrodite.
