The Villa della Regina was built early in the 17th Century and is currently being restored. Formerly it belonged to Cardinal Maurice of Savoy, who is the son of the Duke Charles Emmanuel I. The building was chosen as the residence in the 18th Century for Anne d’Orleans, who was the wife of Victor Amadeus II and this is how the villa got its name. It is surrounded by its own large garden, which is also currently being restored to its former grandeur.
