The Villa della Farnesina was erected by Baldassarre Peruzzi in 1508 and is a fantastic example if Renaissance architecture. To distinguish it from the Palazzo Farnese they called it Farnesina when the prince family bought it 1590. The building has two floors and its façade has windows that alternate with thin pillars and a cornice full of friezes. From the main entrance visitors can reach the loggia, which once led to an Italian-style garden, in which vault Raphael painted the story of Eros and Psyche. The villa today houses the Accademia dei Lincei.
