The Villa Carrara was once a country residence and its construction dates to the 1700s, with alterations in the 1800s. The front of the building is a mix of classical and neo-gothic style with a volcanic stone portal and double gallery resting on a high base. The residence belonged to the noble Carrara family, originally from Montecorvino, who moved to Salerno in the first years of the 1700s. At the end of the same century they became members of the Campo seat.
