The Villa Aldobrandini was built around 1500 and later acquired by Pope Clement VIII Aldobrandini. While the villa itself is not open to the public, the gardens which were recently restored are accessible. It was during the work that the gardens were raised and they now offer fantastic views reaching as far as Gianicolo. During the 17th Century statues depicting the seasons were commissioned, but were later moved to the country villa at Frascati. It is believed that Bernini and his son had created the statues.
