Trevi Fountain was the setting for the movie ’Three Coins in the Fountain’. The impressive sculptured marble figures depict Neptune guided by Tritons, with niches on either side holding the figures of Abundance and Health. Pope Urban VIII originally commissioned Bernini to construct the fountain but it was Nicola Salvi who completed the project almost one hundred years later in the 18th Century. Tradition has it that throwing a coin over your left shoulder into the fountain guarantees a swift return to this beautiful city.
