The Trajan Forum and Trajan Markets were built to celebrate the victories of Trajan in Dacha. To build this project part of the city was modified, a hill had to be razed to the ground, and part of the Trajan wall was also pulled down. The project was started around 107 after Apollodoro from Damascus was put in charge. He is believed to have modelled the project on the outline of the headquarters of a military camp that had a large yard in front of a basilica.
