The Town Hall gardens, planned in 1874 by the architect Casalbore, were once one of the main links between the old town lying to the northeast and the urban centres. There is a fountain known as Don Tullio or Esculapio which was designed in 1790 to supply fresh drinking water to those coming from the sea or travellers. Over the centuries the gardens have been filled with statues of historical interest and rare plants so becoming a most relaxing and popular place to visit.
