The ancient village of Torno is a pretty lakeside resort. Sitting on a rise, it has fine views of Moltrasio and, behind it, of Monte Boletto. There were once many medieval fortifications; the ruins of the wall of the Castello can still be seen on the shore of the lake, and the Porta Travaina is visible on the road to Piazzaga. More spectacular views are had from the peak of Monte Piatto and near here is the hanging stone, which balances on a rock.
