There’s no sand at the Topolini Beach but the area does have a couple of pebble beaches. This is a very popular place with tourists and locals, who flock here in their thousands. It’s said that in July and August it is almost impossible to find somewhere to bask in the sun - or even walk. There is a walkway which goes from Barcola to the junction of the road leading to the castle at Miramare. The area consists of a series of semicircular terraces above the main street with stone benches looking onto the two small pebble beaches.
