The Royal Palace gardens were created by Charles Emmanuel III, with the inspiration coming from French gardens. The design plans were produced in the late 17th Century by architect, Andrč Le Notre, who also created gardens for the king of France. In the centre of these dramatic gardens is the beautiful marble fountain of Nereid with Tritons dating from 1688. This was created by Simone Martinez and is arguably the city’s loveliest fountain. More 18th Century statues by Ladatte and Martinez grace the garden’s walkways of this stunning setting.
