The Sveviano Museum is in the library in which Sveviano loved to spend his time with the great European classics. It’s a small library and the only one known in Europe that is devoted to Ettore Schmitz, known by his penname Italo Svevo, a writer born in Trieste in 1861. He was a lover of the violin and author of the books Senility (1898) and the Conscience of Zeno (1923), which is considered to be his most fascinating work. He studied at the college of Segnitz in Bavaria before working in a branch of Union Bank of Vienna in Trieste.
