The church of Santo Spirito in Siena is located in a small square and is open to visitors from time to time. The lack of permanent opening times is probably due to insufficient funds to provide the security it needs to protect its valuable art works. Here, there is a magnificent chapel entirely covered in fresco paintings by Sodoma in 1520. Paintings depict Saint Sebastian, and Saint Nicola of Tolentino, the Archangel Michael, and Saint Antonio Abbot. The vault painting is the work of Francesco Vanni and other work here is by Ventura Salimbeni.
