Sant’Alo is a Romanesque church in Terni dating from the 11th Century. It is probably best known for the copious re-use of Roman statuary on the exterior. There are 3 naves which are divided by pillars and columns and the apse is worthy of note. The present building is believed to have been erected on the ruins of an earlier pagan temple. This very pretty church once belonged to the Order of the Knights of Malta. It was restored in the 50s.
