The Sanctuary of the Consolata in Turin dates back to the 15th Century. It is dedicated to St. Andrew and has a series of columns supporting the rooms of the Baroque churches. The impressive altar was designed by Filippo Juvarra – the cupola painted by Crosato. The relics of St. Giuseppe Cafasso are contained here, as well as a monument to the queens Maria Teresa and Maria Adelaide, the mother and wife of King Victor Emmanuel. Another chapel contains the relics of St. Valerico. The interior has many marble statues, gilt stuccoes and 18th Century frescoes.
