San Salvatore is arguably the most interesting church in Terni. It can found just off Piazza Europa and was built on the ruins of former Roman buildings. The main part of this attractive church was designed and built on a circular plan and it was once thought to have once been a Roman temple to the sun. It seems more likely that is in actually an 11th Century building and the interior has traces of frescoes; with those in the Cappella Manassei dating from the 14th Century.
