The church of San Salvatore is a beautiful Romanesque church built on the banks of the Morano River and is believed to have been erected in the 12th Century. Legend says it was built on the ruins of a former pagan temple dedicated to Venus. The exterior of the church is very elegant, whilst the interior is very simple with a single nave. There are obvious fragments containing bits of leafy relief on the façade and there is a memorial stone with an epigraph, which makes it clear that the church was largely built out of Roman remains.
