The church of San Pietro was founded around 419 AD by Bishop Achileo. Legend has it that he came from Rome with fragments of the chains which bound St Peter. The present church is 12th Century and was restored 200 years later after a fire. The façade is Romanesque with bas-reliefs and other decorative features. The reliefs on the lower part are 12th Century and depict stories taken from medieval encyclopaedias and the life of Christ.
