The huge church of San Francesco was built in 1288 but was remodelled in the Gothic style between 1354 and 1358. It has a Gothic portal leading into a single nave. The central apse contains a painted wooden Crucifix which dates from the 14th Century. There are several tombs here including the sepulchre holding the remains of the hermit, Beato Ventura (1310) and another of 1357 is the tomb of Valente Valenti. There are some votive frescoes of the 15th Century as well as an early 16th Century organ.
