The huge church of San Fortunato in Todi, sits atop a hill. Dedicated to the patron saint of Todi, and commissioned by Matteo d’Acquasparta, bishop of Todi, it was begun in the late 13th Century and finished in the 15th Century. It has a beautiful Gothic doorway, 16th Century choir stalls and frescoes, and a Gothic font. The frescoes include work by the Giotto School and Masolino di Panicale. Also here is the tomb of mystic and poet, Jacopone da Todi, who died in 1306.
