The Sambuy Gardens in Turin can be located in the centre of the large Piazza Carlo Felice, built by the king of the same name and completed in 1855. These gardens are dedicated to Mayor Ernesto Sambuy, and were designed by the French architect Barillet-Déchamps. Here visitors can admire many exotic plants and there is a fountain which dates from 1859, along with a marble monument to Edmondo De Amicis which was sculpted by Edoardo Rubino. There are numerous shows held here in the summer and in wintertime it is home to a large nativity scene by Emanuele Luzzati.
