Riva is one of the principal tourist locations on Lake Garda with its wonderful moated castle, and harbour. Palazzo Pretorio - the Town Hall – was built in 1375 by Cansignorio Della Scala. Under the wide portico are Roman and Medieval plaques. Other noble palaces include Lutti, Armani, Clari and Martini, with its sumptuous frescoes and paintings. St. Marco’s Arch was erected by the Venetians in the 15th Century – look for the Roman sarcophagus which is set into the right side of the archway. The 16th Century Church of St. Giuseppe, and 12th Century St. Michele’s Church are both worth visiting.
