The Porta Sisi is sited to the south side of Ravenna at the end of the Via Mazzini and the Via Castel S. Pietro and Borgo San Rocco. The oldest references dates the building to the 10th Century. Bovini states the gate is of an uncertain origin, but could be older than thought as the route of the present Via Mazzini is that of an old Roman road. It has a wrought iron radial fanlight located in the arch that comes from the arch of the main door of the San Vitale monastery and was located here in 1885.
