Located behind La Rocca is one of the most masterly engineering works of the 14th Century. The 755ft Ponte delle Torri crosses the River Tessino with its ten towering arches. The bridge and aqueduct is 230ft high and was built by Gattapone for Cardinal Albornoz to enable a water supply to the nearby Rocca. You can walk across the bridge to the towers for which it got its name and in the middle is an opening with staggering views over the river 260ft below. The Ponte delle Torri was immortalised in a painting by Turner.
