The Planetarium was opened in 1985 and it is equipped with a ZK P2 instrument made by the German, Aus Jena Company. The Planetarium is an exciting place to visit as it has projectors for the sun, moon and the planets of Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. There are other instruments that show the ecliptic, the celestial equator, the meridian and astronomical co-ordinate systems. Also on show is a map of the solar system that shows falling stars, a comet, Jupiter and the four Galilean satellites.
