The Pharmaceutical Museum in Trieste was opened at the beginning of 2000. Though small it is one of the few museums in Italy which charts the history and traditions of the pharmaceutical profession. It can be located in the oldest pharmacy in the city - the Picciola in Via Oriani, which is believed to have been in existence for 200 years. There are items dating from the 1700s to the present day. The aim of the curator, a Trieste doctor called Giorgio Du Ban, is to build an exhibition of national and international interest.
