The striking Palazzo Veniero was built in the 13th Century. This is a rare and unusual example in that it exhibits the style of late Byzantine and Arabian taste of that early period. There are large arched windows which have decorated motifs and alternative strips of yellow and grey tuff. The window lines have more tuff layers below and an inlay is created by a sequence of lozenges, all apart from the central one which has a zigzag frieze.
