Buily in Florentine Renaissance style, the Palazzo Piccolomini was begun in 1469 by Pierpaolo Porrina but was probably designed by Bernardo Rossellino. You can find the Palazzo after leaving the Piazza del Campo on Via Rinaldini. The building is reminiscent of the Palazzo Rucellai by Leon Battista Alberti and Palazzo Piccolomini in Pienza, by Bernardo Rossellino. The stone façade is embellished with two coats of arms of the Piccolomini family, with a beautiful courtyard with corbels sculptured by Marrina in 1509. It now also houses the State Archive Museum.
