The Palazzo Massimo alle terme, with its neo-15th Century style, was built between 1883 and 1887 on an area where there was a building called the Villa Perretti. Here you will find on the ground and first floors many sculptures, portraits and reliefs dating to the late Republican period up to the early Imperial period. Displayed on the second floor there are many well-known ornaments and paintings relating to Villa Livia, in Prima Porta. Medieval and modern coins and an important collection of jewellery are kept in a vault in the basement.
