The Palazzo della Borsa Vecchia, which is the home of the Chamber of Commerce, is one of Trieste’s most important examples of neo-classical architecture. The building presents itself as a Greek temple in Doric style adorned with a large portico with four great columns and a bell tower at the top. On the ground floor stand four statues from 1806, works of Venetian artists, representing Europe, Africa, Asia, and America sculptured by Bartolomeo Ferrari, Domenico Banti and Antonio Bosa (pupil of Canova).
