The Palazzo dei Priori is situated at the south end of the main town square. It was built in the latter half of the 13th Century and enlarged when an extension was added between 1334 and 1337 to the right side of the palace. On the left side is a tower, a further addition in the mid 14th Century. On the top of the façade is a bronze eagle by Giovanni di Gigliaccio (1339). This palace has been the home of several rulers and the headquarters of the Papal governors.
