Palazzo Chigi
Piazza Colonna, 370 Rome 00186 - Italy

Map

The Palazzo Chigi building was originally the property of the Aldobrandini family. However in 1659 it was bought by Agostino Chigi who is responsible for its present shape. The central building is severe looking and dates to the Aldobrandini period and has been added to over the centuries like the attic in the 17th Century, the door of Piazza Colonna in the 18th Century, and the fountains decorated with heraldic symbols of Chigi Della Rovere. The building became property of the Sate in 1917 and since 1961 it has been the seat of the Premiership of the Cabinet.
