The Paestum Museum is sited in the centre of Paestum and on the east side of the state road. It is filled with historical and prehistoric material. Here you can find pottery and fine metopes from the Temple of Hera on the Sele just north of Paestum. There is also the archaic treasury that includes Greek statues and paintings. Also to be seen are grave-paintings found in the nearby necropolis, as well as Greek statues and paintings.
