The Opera Theatre in Rome, located in the Via del Viminale, was built at the end of the 1800s. The building was later renovated by the architect Marcello Piacentini between 1926 and 1957. The addition of the fine stucco works dates from this later period. Today, the only part of the early 19th Century opera theatre building which still remains in the large theatre hall. Luckily, this includes the beautiful dome which has fresco paintings by Annibale Brignoli.
