The National Gallery of Art is spread over several rooms in the beautiful Economo building sited directly opposite the town’s railway station. Here you will see an art gallery, which is virtually unknown to the majority of Trieste’s residents. The exhibitions include works of art from the Italian school between the end of the 15th Century and the beginning of the 19th Century, which includes drawings by Canaletto and a painting by Cranach the Elder. The Piedmont room is excellent, filled with boisèries, mirrors and other works of art.
